About Duncan Floor Company
Duncan Floor Company, was established in Onehunga in 1947, making it one of the oldest continuous floorsanding companies in New Zealand. Bill Duncan (although not by blood was like an uncle to the Taylor family) started the company and adhered to strict old-fashioned values of quality, service and integrity, while still adopting modern techniques and products which we still follow today.
Duncan Floor Company are proud that many generations of customers have referred their friends and families to us again and again over the years, trusting our quality of workmanship and service.

Linda and Dave Ngare have been directors for over 27 years and have seen many flooring trends come and go, but still have the passion to transform, refinish and create stunning new floors.
Our family has also been a big part of Duncan Floor Company for generations, starting with Dad, Frank Taylor who started out as a floorsander in 1958, and then came into the office before taking over ownership of the company. Son Russ who also was a floorsander took over and run it until daughter Linda and her husband Dave took over the helm in 1994.
Our customers include Homeowners, Builders, Architects, Councils, Schools, Kitchen and Bathroom designers. We offer everyone premium quality work and competitive prices. Meet the Team
Linda Ngare
Linda keeps the company running smoothly and is often the voice on the other end of the phone. After 35 years in the company there aren't too many things Linda can't solve in a flash.
Dave Ngare
Dave is our senior estimator, he, or one of his team, will come and visit you, measure and quote, but more importantly will advise you on the best way to achieve the result you want. When he looks at a floor he treats it like it is his own.
Size and Scale
We are one of the largest family owned floorsanding companies in New Zealand, certainly the oldest, but it's our team of specialist floor experts that makes us so successful, its their attention to detail and knowledge of techniques that sets us apart from the competition. We value our large team of flooring specialists. We have experienced staff who specialise in floorsanding and coating, polyurethane, waterbourne, oiling, whitewashing, laying cork tiles, modern laminates and flooring systems, so we are confident we will have the right person for your job. For us it’s the enduring quality of the job that will ensure that in 20 years time you come back to Duncan Floor for a refinish.
